Acai [ah-sah-ee, ah-sahy-ee]
I always think it is so funny how cafes write the pronunciation of Acai on the menu. Like your order is impossible to place without the correction enunciation!
As a North American I say A-cai. I know it is 'Ah-sah-ee' but A-cai is just what I say. If I get a sideways look from a trendy Melbourne waiter, so be it! ha!
However you want to pronounce it this little Brazilian berry is a delicious antioxidant rich superfood that you definitely want to get into your breakfast routine.
There are so many versions of Acai Bowls and although I am sure there is a standard or traditional method this is how I like to enjoy my Ah-sah-ee…
Nourish Me Mum’s Acai Bowl
1 cup frozen Zucchini
1/2 cup frozen Blueberries
1/2 frozen Banana
200mls Coconut Water or water
100mls Almond or Coconut milk
1 sachet of Frozen Acai (preferable) or a serve of Acai Powder
Juice of 1 Lemon
Combine all ingredients in your Vitamix or high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
