Strawberries + Cream Smoothie
Using fresh Coconut can seem daunting but once you get it open there is a delightful reward. Creamy coconut meat and coconut water! Exceptionally hydrating and full of electrolytes and healthy fats I've used both the coconut water and the meat in this smoothie. Give it a go! You'll love fresh coconut.
STRAWBERRIES + CREAM SMOOTHIE
Serves: 2 depending on yield of coconut water
1/2 cup frozen Strawberries
1/2 cup Zucchini
1/2 a frozen Banana
1 Young Thai Coconut (water and meat)*
Optional Extras: Flax seeds, chia seeds. Protein and superfoods of choice. I added a serve of pea protein.
Open your coconut (Good slideshow HERE) pouring water and scooping white cream/meat layer from the inside into your blender.
Add all remaining ingredients, and optional extras if you choose and process until smooth!
NOTE: Not game or don't have access to fresh coconuts? Replace the fresh coconut yield with 250mls coconut water and 1/2 cup shredded or flaked coconut :)
